Iowa MMJ staff, advocates and partner organizations mobilized to show up in support of people detained by ICE at Hardin Co. jail. Hardin Co. announced that it intends to end its contract with ICE, which means people detained there by ICE could have been released. Instead, ICE decided to send people to other county jails in Iowa and Nebraska under cover of night. Advocates showed up and we’re still fighting for their release and to get ICE out of Iowa! We are hearing from unaccompanied children who have recently arrived in the U.S. seeking safety and are being resettled in Iowa. We are working with partner organizations and preparing to offer legal representation to as many kids as we can, but we will need your help!
